Custom and Obsolete Replacement Parts in Ontario

A small unavailable component can disable an appliance, machine, tool, fixture or entire workflow. TECHNAST helps recover those situations by inspecting the failed part, reconstructing its functional geometry, selecting an appropriate manufacturing approach and testing a physical replacement.

Good candidates

  • A manufacturer no longer supplies the component
  • The original drawing or CAD file is unavailable
  • Only a damaged or worn sample remains
  • Conventional machining or tooling is disproportionate to the required quantity
  • The original design needs a practical correction
  • A temporary or low-volume replacement can restore operation
  • A successful one-off part should become repeatable inventory

Engineering before reproduction

We do not assume every original detail should be copied blindly. Wear, load direction, temperature, chemicals, fastening, tolerances and the surrounding assembly influence the correct design and material. Some jobs are suitable for additive manufacturing; others may require a different process or should not be reproduced without additional evidence.

Workflow

  1. Document the failed component and surrounding assembly.
  2. Identify critical interfaces, motion, loading and failure mode.
  3. Measure or scan the surviving geometry.
  4. Reconstruct and, where justified, improve the design.
  5. Produce a fit or functional prototype.
  6. Verify against the real assembly.
  7. Preserve the validated digital definition for repeat orders.

Real project proof

What to send

  • The failed part, if available
  • Photographs of every side and the installed location
  • A ruler or known reference visible in photographs
  • The machine or assembly make and model
  • What the component does and how it failed
  • Required quantity and urgency
  • Heat, load, impact, chemical, water, UV or flexibility requirements
