After the success of our first hard-hat tooling project with Prime Supplier Inc., TECHNAST continued working with the design and studying the details of everyday use: fit, handling, repeatability, and the small steps where even a second could be saved.
V1: completed, approved, and working
The completed V1 tooling met the customer's needs. They approved it and are happy to continue using it without changes. It established a working foundation for the next project—and gave us practical experience to build on.
Experience carried into a new shape
When Prime Supplier Inc. returned with a different hard-hat shape, we applied what we had learned. V2 brings those refinements into custom tooling developed around the new geometry, with close attention to precise fit, reliable positioning, easy handling, and an efficient workflow.
The aim was to improve the entire experience of using the tool: how naturally the hat seats, how easily it can be handled, and how smoothly the operation can be repeated. A more refined tool comes from getting those practical details right.
Small refinements with a practical purpose
For TECHNAST, finishing a successful design is also an opportunity to learn. Working with V1 helped us identify where the next design could be more convenient, more consistent, and quicker to use. The new hat shape gave us the opportunity to put that experience into V2.
